Multi Router Traffic Grapher or simply MRTG is a tool to generate HTML pages and monitor the traffic load on network links. Its HTML page provides a real-time representation of the traffic.

MRTG works on most UNIX and Windows NT. It is written in Perl and comes with full source. It uses a highly portable Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) implementation written entirely in Perl. The traffic loads on network links are monitored and measured allowing the user to see traffic load on a network over time in graphical form.

MRTG has been the most common network traffic measurement tool for all Service Providers. External readers for MRTG graphs can create other interpretation of data. MRTG software can be used not only to measure network traffic on interfaces, but also build graphs of anything that has an equivalent SNMP MIB - like CPU load, Disk availability, Temperature, etc.

What is MRTG?

You will see this is port 26 which is wireless access and it takes the description from my config in there which is really helpful. The first figure tells that the max speed and bytes.

In the graph, it is the utilization that calculate from in and out, average and current data. This box shows the daily which does the polling every 5 minutes. The other box shows weekly, monthly and yearly graphs.

Let's think about If the network is connected with switch or router, the description will show the port or interface such as in this case, port 26 connected to GigabitEthernet0/8, so it is also about the fall security.

This is the end of the implementation, we hope that helps for many people, thank you.
